Here is a bunch of questions we get asked from time to time.

Q - Can you 100% guarantee a number 1 place in Google?
We never offer a 100% guarantee of a first place in any of the search engines. It's just impossible to do unless you know all there is to know about how Google calculate the rank for a web page and you know exactly what your competition are doing to their website to improve their chances of a top spot.
Some of the ranking factors really depend on the exact search term a web user has typed in. We've see different results provided for "Brighton SEO" and "SEO Brighton". Now you'd think that the person searching for each of these terms would be delivered the same results but I guess it's just not that simple.

Q - Why do lesser content web sites get ranked higher than comprehensive content web site?
There has been a great deal of talk about content and how "Content id King". Although your site has to have some great content to make it worthwhile for your visitors there really has to be other reasons for the search engines (Google) to place your site above sites which you might consider to have inferior content. One of the biggest factors in terms of search result relevance for any web site is something called "Back-Links". A back-link is a piece of text on another website that is "hyper-linked" (has a clickable link) to your website. The amount of Back-Links that a website has coming to it will, if done correctly, has a really good effect on how Google rates the relevance of your site content.
For example, if your site has one really good and informative page about, let's say "Baking Bread", and you have lots of other cooking, baking and recipe sites linking to your recipe and how to make bread page then your site is deemed to be "Really Useful" and "Relevant" for people searching on "how to make bread". Alternatively, if your competitor have lots of recipes across tens of pages that all look pretty similar in terms of layout and content and does not have the great back-links we've discussed already then that site will be deemed less relevant.
There are hundreds of factors to take into account when building a website. Content is just one.

Q - How often do you have to update your web site to make it effective?
This is a really great question and one that is sort of the same as "How long is a piece of string". Let's try to answer it though.
It seems an obvious thing to update your website frequently to maintain interest for your visitors, but, and I think this is a really important point, you need to know what you;re trying to achieve with your site AND what each of the pages in your site is there for before you decide on the update frequency.
It may be that you are trying to attract new visitors all of the time so having new content added every day may not be needed at all. If all your visitors are new then the content is new to them!
On the other hand if you're building a "relationship" with your visitors then having new content more often would be more attractive to returning visitors. Who wants to keep on returning to a web site that stays the same all the time?
Of course the real story here is that you need a mixture of old and new content across your site. It may be that your site provides a good reference resource for information in your field of expertise and your business so keeping that standard content in place and not changing would be good. However, updating a news page with what's happening in your industry as soon as it's known about or even making your news page THE place to look for up to the minute information on your industry.
Keeping a website fresh and alive takes effort and thought. A blog is a good way to keep people coming back but it needs to be regular, often and consistent to make a real impact.
If you're thinking about a blog and you can't make a real commitment to at least once a month then it isn't worth starting.

Q - You offer Link Building services and mention BAD LINKS what is a bad link?
Our link building service is based on totally "White Hat" methods which means that we stick by the Search Engine's guidelines for constructing good and most relevant links. An example of a Bad Link would be where you have asked for a links, or even paid for a link, from a "link farm" or somewhere that simply lists completely unrelated websites on page after page.
In this instance Google may even penalise your site for having a link in one (or many) of these directories and it could take your site weeks, months or years to recover from this.
If you are building your own links be sure that the site that links to your is relevant to the page it's linking to and that the Link Text is targeted at your keyword for that page.

We've all seen those links that simply say ( for more info "Click Here"). Using these words which has no relevance to the page the link is actually pointing at is not necessarily a bad link but it's certainly not the best link you could have. An alternative might be if the page being linked to was say a Bike Shop then the link might say (Find out more about our "Classic Bicycle" range.) and this assumes that the targeted phrase for that page "Classic Bicycle".

Q - Does Facebook work in terms of SEO for my website?
This is one of those questions that has many possible answers. In general Facebook can be used to improve the search ranking for your website if you get the process right. Simply having a Facebook page is not the whole answer to the SEO Question.
Facebook is excellent for providing you with a list of people that "LIKE" your company Facebook Page and is really great at targeting advertising to a particular demographic, for instance you can narrow the delivery of a Facebook ad to say "female, 25 to 30 years old, within 5 miles of your post code) and this is very powerful as you can probably imagine.

Q - Can I have 2 Facebook accounts, 1 for business and 1 for personal?
Having more than one Facebook account would be a direct violation of the Facebook terms of service. If you do have 2 accounts Facebook reserve the right to close all of your accounts. Try to think of this as a way of creating a human face for your business.
Social media is about being known so why hide behind a "Company".

You can of course create a Facebook Page for your business, product or service.
