Keyword Density, does it really matter

Lately I've been doing a whole load of reading on SEO and how it all works and currently running some "experiments" for on page SEO so I thought I'd just say a thing or two about keywords.
I've blogged about keywords before
Following that blog I started to think a bot more about keywords and wondered:
Well there's a lot of info out there on keyword density and most of it is nonsense! Yep, NONSENSE.
People talk about keyword density like it's the holy grail of SEO on page but thats' simply not the case. I here those "know it all" , "just got started in SEO" experts tell me that my keyword density should be below 10 percent and others of the same knowledge level tell me I must get my density to 12 percent.
Well that is nonsense indeed
Keyword density simply does not matter at all, so long as you're writing your content for your readers and NOT the search robots. Please, whatever you do ignore the robots, don't try to interact with them and certainly don't cut down on your keyword use to make your keyword density match whatever the latest expert says your keyword density should be.
In fact I'm using this blog post to do some testing about Keyword Density parameters so that I can see what difference a high keyword density can make to keyword density calculations in keyword search terms and if keyword density of over 20 percent can harm or help your rankings.
I like to test, test and test again so I'll be writing more about keyword density in the days and weeks to come.
If your like this blog post about keyword density, drop me a email and let me know. I'll add you to the list for my Keyword density testing report.
