Tracking how AI impacts organic website traffic is an ongoing challenge. However, Google is starting to implement some changes to make data more accessible. Traffic driven by AI Mode will soon be viewable within Google Search Console. While this is a great advancement in performance tracking, it still presents some challenges, as it won’t be possible to break the data out from other organic sources (web, etc.).
Still, having the ability to access some of the data helps with deeper analysis to identify search trends, and how to optimize content for AI better. While it doesn’t look like the ability to parse out AI traffic is coming anytime soon, we’re remaining hopeful that Google will make this available in future updates.
